Dear Friends,
Thank you so very much for being part of the Congregation Kol Shalom community! As the 2023-24 fiscal year draws to a close, we write to request your pledge renewal for our fiscal year starting July 1, 2024.
CKS provides a welcoming home for our region’s eclectic Jewish community, offering weekly Shabbat services, Religious School for children through bar/bat mitzvah age, and dozens of holiday celebrations and programs.
Highlights of the 2023-24 year include:
-
Community Passover Seder with 75 attendees, both familiar faces and new
-
New facility security improvements
-
Launch of regular Oneg Shabbats after services
-
Hiring new Education Director Rabbi Nina King-Madlem

What makes our community possible? You! Together, our volunteering and resources sustain CKS’s religious practices, building, grounds, education programs, and celebrations.
CKS’s budget for 2024-25 is approximately $500,000.
-
75% of that budget goes to the staff who make our services and programming possible. The remainder covers our facility, security, books, food, and supplies.
-
120 households pay annual dues to CKS.
$4,167 is what each household would pay in dues, if each had the same capacity to pay.
Because of increasing staffing costs, CKS has operated at a deficit for two of the past three years: income has been less than expenses, and our reserves are dwindling.
Would you please renew your pledge to sustain the CKS community during 2024-25? While we ask every household to prioritize its pledge, no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
Ways to pledge:
-
Complete the paper pledge form you'll receive by mail, and return it to CKS by email or US mail by July 8.

New on this year’s pledge form: please note which programs and volunteer opportunities interest you! We hope to welcome all members as volunteers this year, whether it’s to serve as ushers for services, pitch in on facility projects, or bring food to congregants in need of support.
Also, please note the new security assessment. Thank you for contributing to our community’s continued safety.

We look forward to sharing another year of Jewish community, worship, and learning with you!
L’Shalom
