Laura holds an MA from UCLA in Spanish literature, and a BA from Bryn Mawr College in Romance Languages. As a lifelong musician, Laura has had vocal training in pop, classical, and jazz styles, and has performed with choirs in the Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Seattle areas. In addition to singing, she plays the flute and guitar. Laura has been involved in synagogue life since high school, when she sang in a young cantors’ program. She was a part of her local Hillel during college, and served as a substitute cantorial soloist at Beth Chayim Chadashim, in Los Angeles, where she also played in the klezmer band and sang in the choir. Laura’s current interests include Sephardic music, and Jewish music for children.

She lives on Bainbridge Island with her two children.

Emily Katcher has been leading and teaching Torah, tefillah and Hebrew for 14 years. She was Cantorial Soloist and teacher at Kol Shalom for six years. She currently leads Shabbat, holiday and life cycle celebrations at congregations throughout the Puget Sound area, including Kol Shalom, Beth Hatikvah and Bet Shira. Emily has a BA in Near Eastern Religion from Cal State Long Beach, where she studied Dead Sea Scrolls with Robert Eisenman, and has studied Jewish music at Hebrew Union College.

She lives in West Seattle with her husband Matt and their three children.

Tova Gannana was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. She was brought up in the Beth Jacob Congregation and attended Talmud Torah Day School. After high school Tova made aliyah and served in the IDF. She was a member of Kibbutz Ketura for eight years where she lived with her husband Nisan and their children Avram and Sivan. On Kibbutz Ketura, Tova led poetry workshops for international groups staying in Keren Kolot, the educational institute on Kibbutz Ketura. She was a madricha for five years in the after school program of Kibbutz Ketura. Tova is a published poet, her first book Human Dust came out in 2012 with Finishing Line Press.

She lives on Bainbridge Island with her husband and her two children.
