Join us for a special weekend of music, learning, and Yiddish culture with D. Zisl Slepovitch, a renowned ethnomusicologist (Ph.D.), composer, and klezmer musician. Experience interactive workshops, multimedia concerts, and communal gatherings that celebrate Yiddish music and history.

FRIDAY, APRIL 4
6:45 PM: Kabbalat Shabbat & Oneg
8:15 PM: “Traveling the Yiddishland” – A multimedia musical journey that preserves and perpetuates the disappearing Yiddish songs and oral histories of Eastern and Central European Jewry in the 20th century.

SATURDAY, APRIL 5
10:00 AM: Shabbat Morning Services & Kiddush Luncheon
1:30 PM: Instrumental (Klezmer) Workshop (all instruments welcome!)
3:30 PM: Yiddish Song Workshop
5:30 PM: Shabbat Dinner (dairy & vegetarian options)
7:00 PM: “Shadows: Songs from Testimonies” – A musical project of Yale University’s Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies. As musician-in-residence, Slepovitch researched, transcribed, and produced recordings of the songs found within more than 4,400 survivor and witness testimonies, preserving this music and honoring those who can no longer tell their stories.
